I started racing triathlon in September 2014 when I decided to give Nantwich sprint tri a go, one triathlon and I was hooked!! I came on board with TTT just before my race in August 2014 as I wanted so help and direction in how to train for a triathlon. I saw Chris Standidge compete at Liverpool Tri, it was very inspiring, I saw a poster and googled the guy/team and connected when we met. I have really enjoyed racing sprint triathlons until now but I do love my long distance swimming too.
My favourite race to date was St Helen’s sprint tri in September 2015, I led the swim for most of the way and then came out with water 3rd behind 2 great swimmers so it felt awesome to come out of the water with some top names such as Mark Livingstone from St Helens. It also felt great to get a 20km PB on my bike during the race of 43.45.
As well as my new found passion for triathlon I am a huge music fan. I enjoy time at the gym and camping with the family (seeing the kids faces in a campervan is priceless!).
I took up triathlon as a goal to lose weight, get fit and explore my potential. Triathlon has led me to lots of new experiences, people, places, teams and long distance swimming of all things.
Since being coached by Total Tri I feel that the biggest benefit of being coached is accountability, education, support, encouragement, and to shorten the path to outstanding results.
