I first did a triathlon at the end of 2013 after a work mate registered for a pool sprint and encouraged me to do it, so after a week of training I completed my first triathlon and from there I was hooked. I now race Olympic and half ironman distance.
I have to say my favourite race so far has to be Ironman 70.3 Vichy in France apart from the heat on the run, the course and the atmosphere was amazing. My favourite discipline is the bike trapping along down on your aerobars is a great feeling. As probably every other triathlete other hobbies are a thing of the past but when i do get the chance I swap two wheels for four legs, horse riding is an old past time of mine.
I first came aware of total tri while watching Ironman Bolton in 2014 after seeing athletes in team kit, at the time I wasn’t looking for a coach but in January I decided a coach was needed so that’s when I joined Total Tri Training.
The biggest benefit of being coached by Beth is that my sessions are now structured which has improved my training, which has resulted in my race times continuously dropping. Also her motivation and encouragement has been essential in keeping me training hard all season. The other coaches are happy to help with any questions and having access to warm weather training camps was beneficial at the beginning of the year to get a great block of coached training in.
