Join us on the first of our adventures to “Iconic Triathlon Destinations”. Starting in 2019 we aim to add to our popular winter training camps with the opportunity to visit bucket list training and race destinations under the guidance of experienced team of coaches. First up……………….

THANYAPURA RESORT, Phuket, Thailand – Sunday 3rd to Wednesday 13th March 2018

2019 we are offering a training camp in the Idyllic destination of Thailand, one of the meccas in triathlon with many of the pros visiting the resort over the winter for some warm weather training.  The current exchange rate makes this a really attractive prospect with your pound going a long way in Thailand still.

This is a 9 night camp (2 nights travel plus 9 nights in Phuket) to allow athletes to also have the time to experience the surrounding area of Phuket making it much more than just a training camp

This camp is aimed at INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED athletes who are looking to create noticeable gains in their fitness and performance along with taking away strategies on how to improve their training once back home.

Thanyapura Resort has top quality facilities including:

  • 50-metre Olympic-standard pool (3m deep) and 25-metre lap pool
  • 500m cushioned synthetic running track
  • Access to quiet roads for cycling and running
  • Running trails
  • Bike rentals

The camp starts on the afternoon of Monday 4th and finishes on Tuesday 13th March (flying out on the morning of the 14th).  Help will be on hand for putting bikes together from our coaches on arrival should you need it and help you settle in.  All sessions will be coached. You can do all the sessions or dip in and dip out as you wish.

Di Lite Restuarant

The DiLite restaurant is now offering a full buffet menu, available Monday through Friday from 12.00-15.00, and Monday through Saturday from 18.00 – 20.30 and serving up 100% vegan foods. Fresh detox juices and hot natural infusions are both included alongside the food. The Chefs at DiLite use organic, locally sourced seasonal ingredients, including a variety of flavourful herbs that are grown on site. The entire menu is vegan and vegetarian friendly, and offers the largest selection of vegan food choices currently found in northern Phuket.

The cost to enjoy DiLite’s lunchtime buffet is 390THB net for the afternoon and 550THB net for the dinner. For larger group bookings, reservations should be made ahead of time. The buffet is a perfect choice for those wanting to eat healthily, ethically and locally, without compromising on taste or enjoyment. You will be amazed at how delicious and satisfying DiLite’s all you can eat buffet will be!

Bring your other half

Travelling to the other side of the world to just train seems like we would all be missing out on seeing this wonderful part of Thailand. And for this reason the camp will be designed to allow enough free time to go and explore Phuket several times throughout the camp. So why not bring the other half or even a non-athlete friend on this adventure. The cost of the trip is reduced for them to reflect them not requiring use of facilities or coaching (see below).

What to do outside of Thanyapura

Phang Nga Bay is unique. A day out here is an unforgettable experience that will definitely get you thinking. A distinctive feature of the bay is the sheer limestone cliffs that jut vertically out of the emerald-green waters. These islands are home to sheltered fauna that are possible to observe on certain tours. James Bond Island and Koh Panyee are just two of the more famous spots in this bay.

 

 

Phi Phi Island is Thailand’s superstar island, particularly famous for its central role in the 2000 movie The Beach. It’s the topic of conversation for travellers all over Thailand. For some, it’s the only reason to touchdown in Phuket. Even with all the hype, it doesn’t disappoint. Phi Phi’s beauty is a large chunk of the allure. The islands, when approached by boat, rise from the sea like a fortress. Sheer cliffs tower overhead, then give way to beach-fronted jungle. It’s love at first sight.

 

We can’t have a list of the best things to do in Phuket without mentioning the beaches! With more than 30 to choose from, the island is understandably famous for them. There’s a lot of variety available, ranging from little secluded coves to long and lively shores. Most of the best beaches in Phuket are along the west coast. They offer beautiful sunsets, along with their soft white sands and clean blue seas
